These terms & conditions are for scheduled day tours, private day tours and transfers only. Click on this link for terms & conditions for overnight tours.

1. Contract

By making a booking with Roots Travel you will be accepting these conditions on behalf of yourself and all other persons using our services pursuant to a booking made by you.
2. Payment for Public Day Tours
Payment is due before a tour commences in cash, by credit/debit card (AMEX, MasterCard, Visa, JCB). Entry fees to attractions are not included unless otherwise stated. Payment may be made online, by telephone, through an agent of Roots Travel or at the Tourist Information Centre.
3. Amendments to Bookings
Amendments to bookings may be made without penalty if made at least 48 hours prior to departure. Changes within 48 hours are subject to a £10 administration fee.
4. Refunds for Public Day Tours (Tour cancellation by passenger)
To qualify for a refund, you must return to us or the ticket agent from where you bought your ticket any tickets issued. Cancellation fees apply:
For tickets bought from an agency:
Cancellations made more than 28 days prior to departure - No charge
Cancellations made within 14~28 days of departure - 50% of total cost of tour.
Cancellations made within 14 days of departure - 100% of total cost of tour.
For tickets bought by telephone, by email or online:
Tickets are non-refundable.
5. Refunds for Public Day Tours (Tour cancellation by Roots Travel)
Where we cancel the tour before departure, then we will refund all monies paid by you. You will not be entitled to any compensation for the loss of the tour.
6. Departures
The departure time is stated on your ticket. It is the passenger's responsibility to arrive at the departure point on time. There are no refunds for late arrivals. There are no refunds for unforeseen circumstances, eg. delays due to heavy traffic, bad weather etc.
7. Payment for Private Tours & Transfers
We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, credit card (AMEX, MasterCard, Visa) and a variety of debit cards. Payment by credit card incurs a 2% charge (AMEX +3%).
8. Refunds / Cancellations for Private Tours & Transfers
You must inform us if you wish to cancel a tour or transfer. Cancellation fees will be charged at the same rate as for public tours - see 3. If we cancel a tour before departure we will refund all monies paid by you. You will not be entitled to any compensation for the loss of the tour.
9. Insurance
You are advised to take out insurance to cover you in the event that you have to cancel your booking or be compensated for delays and/or damage to your property.
10. Travel Documentation
No travel documentation is required for day tours. Student cards must be available for presentation to qualify for the student rate.
11. Variation of Brochure / Alteration of tour
We reserve the right to vary the services described in our website and brochures. You have the right to cancel your booking with no penalty should we vary the tour after you have made your booking, but only before departure.
12. Behaviour
You are responsible for the conduct of all members of your group and you indemnify us against any liability for damage caused by you. We reserve the right to terminate the tour if behaviour is deemed to be unreasonable by our staff.
13. Complaints
You must immediately inform your driver-guide who will try to resolve your complaint. If this is not possible, please contact us within 14 days of your tour. We aim to deal promptly with all correspondence relating to complaints.
