Horseriding in Wales tour itinerary

First stop, ancient Welsh port of Chepstow in south Wales with its impressive castle for an early lunch stop before we explore the Wye Valley and visit the ruins at Tintern, a 12th century Cistercian Abbey that inspired the poetry of Wordsworth and the paintings of Turner. Then west through the dramatic hill country of South Wales to visit Hay-on-Wye. Time for dinner and to browse the many second-hand bookstores before we head off to our accommodation.

Our second day involves a day's horseback riding in the Brecon Beacons National Park, on remote bridleways and ancient tracks with views of the stunning mountains, a typical feature of the Welsh countryside. There will also be a relaxing stop in a village pub for food and refreshment.
