  Plan for the day

Leaving Cambridge, we head south around the eastern outskirts of London, across the majestic Queen Elizabeth II bridge over the River Thames to arrive in Canterbury late-morning. Every visitor should enter the city's major attraction, Canterbury Cathedral. Learn more about the town and its most famous historical inhabitant, Geoffrey Chaucer by visiting The Canterbury Tales, an attraction celebrating the life and characters of Geoffrey Chaucer and a window to the writings and history of mediaeval Britain. We arrive back in Cambridge early evening.
