What can I see?

  • Tranquil views from rolling hills over wooded valleys, fields of sheep and flowers
  • Bibury, once named by William Morris "the most beautiful village in England"
  • Some of England's prettiest villages

The Cotswolds is located between Oxford and South Wales. The reasons for its fame and popularity include its wonderful honey-coloured villages. Quintessential England! Explore the narrow, winding country backroads, villages off-the-beaten-track, fields of flowers and lavender, and wander to the hilltops for their majestic views over the Severn Valley to Wales.

Your driver-guide has lived for much of his upbringing in The Cotswolds and so can show you places that most tourists never reach. It is important that to see The Cotswolds well, travel is conducted in minibuses so that it is possible to access all the country backroads with the most beautiful rural scenes.

Plan for the day

We leave Cambridge for the eastern Cotswolds and the hilltop town of Stow-on-the-Wold. Famous for its antiques and pretty market square, it is a perfect introduction to The Cotswolds. Then on to the tourist village of Bourton-on-the-water with its quaint river flowing through its heart. Take lunch at a traditional, rustic country pub. In the afternoon we venture south to meander along the beautiful Coln Valley to Bibury. Back to Cambridge mid-evening.
