Blenheim Palace is one of the most impressive palaces in the UK. Given as gift to the Duke of Marlborough by Queen Anne for his victories over the French in 1704 during the Wars of the Spanish Succession, It is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and a truly impressive place. The Capability Brown-designed grounds are worth the admission price alone. Oxford is famous worldwide for its University, the oldest in the UK. Its dreaming spires dominate the city skyline.
