What can I see?
vs
Aston Villa & Liverpool, two of England's most famous teams
Exciting, fast, attacking football
Great stadium atmosphere
World-class footballers from all over the world
The English Premiership is one of the strongest football leagues in the world and also one of the most exciting. Today's game is at Aston Villa in Birmingham. Aston Villa is one of the oldest clubs in Britain and was the European Champion in 1982. Villa Park is a wonderful stadium that can hold 42,500 fans. The visiting team, Liverpool, is the most successful team in the history of English football having been the European Champions 5 times. This match will typify the passion of the Premiership, each side wanting to win for a good start to the new season. Villa will be looking for a place in Europe next season, whereas Liverpool aspire to winning the League Championship. With the ground full to capacity, the atmosphere will be excellent.
  Plan for the day
We leave Cambridge late-morning for the journey to central Birmingham. On arrival, your driver-guide will introduce you to English football and take you on an orientation / guided walk around the ground. Visit the club shop selling Villa / Premiership merchandise. Afterwards, we head into the ground to watch as the atmosphere builds before kick-off. After the game, we head back to Cambridge to arrive early-evening.
