The
English Premiership is one of the strongest football leagues in
the world and also one of the most exciting. Today's game is at
Aston Villa in Birmingham. Aston Villa is one of the oldest clubs
in Britain and was the European Champion in 1982. Villa Park is
a wonderful stadium that can hold 42,500 fans. The visiting team,
Liverpool, is the most successful team in the history of English
football having been the European Champions 5 times. This match
will typify the passion of the Premiership, each side wanting to
win for a good start to the new season. Villa will be looking for
a place in Europe next season, whereas Liverpool aspire to winning
the League Championship. With the ground full to capacity, the atmosphere
will be excellent. |
