|
Stratford-upon-Avon
is a small, pretty town on the banks of the River Avon, famous
worldwide for being the home to one of the most important playwrights
of the English language, William Shakespeare. The town
is very compact with all the sights located within a short walk
of the central shopping streets. Wander down to the banks of the
River Avon and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre or take the stroll
out to Shottery to visit the idyllic cottage where Shakespeare's
wife, Anne Hathaway, lived.
